Thanks for joining me! I created this blog in order to document my journey in pastry school and for myself and others to watch my progress! When I was a kid, all I did was watch Food Network, Cake Boss and Ace of Cakes. I dreamed of one day being as talented as my idols. I loved to bake and was always experimenting with weird recipes and fun flavors. The older I got, the more I loved baking and when I was in high school I often researched culinary and pastry schools. I even wrote a ten page paper about how I wanted to be a baker and a cake decorator when I grow up.
Although I was passionate about baking, I didn’t pursue this dream right after high school. I felt that I was supposed to do something more conventional, like going to school for engineering(that obviously didn’t work out). Now, as a 22 year old, I finally decided to look into pastry school and I found Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. I was a bit impulsive and applied just a few days after I found the school, and I believe that it was one of the best decisions of my life. Already I’ve learned that I possess many traits that are commonly found in pastry chefs, such as being a perfectionist, enjoying math, and wanting to work a fast paced, loud, hectic and satisfying job.
I hope you enjoy following my journey and I hope that my blog can help at least one person take the plunge and do something they’ve always wanted to do, but have been too afraid to do so.
